چکیده

Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), a scattering tool of atomic spatial resolution and high penetration power, provides a non-destructive scattering tool in structural characterization for surfaces, interfaces, as well as bulks, and is an decent complimentary technique to the direct imaging tools such as the SEM, TEM, and AFM in nanostructure research. Capable in probing structural information (electron density fluctuations) in a wide range of length scales spanning from sub-nanometer to submicron, SAXS has been employed regularly in many fields where nanostructure and/or mesomorphous structure take a decisive role in determining phases, functions, and/or performances of devices.

X-ray beamlines for structural studies at the NSRRC superconducting wavelength shifter.

Using a superconducting-wavelength-shifter X-ray source with a photon flux density of 10(11)-10(13) photons s(-1) mrad(-1) (0.1% bandwidth)(-1) (200 mA)(-1) in the energy range 5-35 keV, three hard X-ray beamlines, BL01A, BL01B and BL01C, have been designed and constructed at the 1.5 GeV storage ring of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC). These have been designed for str...

Coupling Correction Study at Nsrrc

The equation of motion of the bunched beam is governed by the guiding fields, focusing quadrupole fields, nonlinear higher order fields such as the sextupole fields, and wake fields. It could be uncoupled or coupled motion either in the transverse planes and/or between transverse and longitudinal planes. In this study we are interested in the investigation of the error sources and the finding o...

Design of a Resonant Transition Radiation Source in the Soft X-ray Range

Resonant transition radiation (RTR) can be generated from multi-layer structures when they are driven by relativistic electron beams. In consideration of using the NSRRC 90 MeV photoinjector as driver, we examined the feasibility of generating narrow-band soft x-rays from various multi-layer structures. Based on analytical theory, the expected angular-spectral distribution and photon yield of t...

Software for the high-throughput collection of SAXS data using an enhanced Blu-Ice/DCS control system

Biological small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) provides powerful complementary data for macromolecular crystallography (MX) by defining shape, conformation and assembly in solution. Although SAXS is in principle the highest throughput technique for structural biology, data collection is limited in practice by current data collection software. Here the adaption of beamline control software, hist...

Single-crystal CVD diamonds as small-angle X-ray scattering windows for high-pressure research.

Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) was performed on single-crystal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamonds with low nitrogen concentrations, which were fabricated by microwave plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition at high growth rates. High optical quality undoped 500 µm-thick single-crystal CVD diamonds grown without intentional nitrogen addition proved to be excellent as windows on SAXS...
